Berenguer Dolls - History
The history of Berenguer Dolls spans back to the early 1940s when doll designer Jose Berenguer began designing and making dolls in his home country of Spain. Incredibly detailed and life-like faces were his trademark, and the main facet contributing to the Berenguer doll line’s ultimate success in North America since first introduced in the early 1980s. Salvador maintains an excellent eye for detail which he transposes to his dolls through inspiration from his children and grandchildren, revealing those most innocent and irresistible facial expressions translating the emotions of children.
There are innumerable types of dolls offered today, both for play and for collecting, all designed by Jose Berenguer’s son Salvador, who has followed in his father’s footsteps and, without doubt, inherited the family craft along with a great passion for creating.
