2 Years Old > The best gift for a very active 2 Year-Old...

Good afternoon:

I'm looking for a great birthday gift for my (soon to be two year-old nephew. He's very active, loves Thomas, and anything to do with trains, trucks, sports (baseball, soccer, etc.) He's not afraid to try much, and has every moving car/bike/scooter imaginable. He doesn't sit at something long and loves to smash, crash, and bash. He likes music and dancing, but I've never been able to get him to sit still long enough for art projects.

I'd love to get him something unique and special, but much of what I've looked at online through Parents.com and other websites seems to be very... I don't know... basic?

I love your store, and would really appreciate any suggestions.

Cheers,
Amanda

Hi Amanda, I'm going to poll our staff for ideas for your active nephew.
Here are a few suggestions for starters:
- look at our bath section... two year olds are the perfect age for that and there are boats, islands and various other toys that are both educational and active
- Giant Wedgits.... a building toy, which is also a spatial thinking and reasoning type of toy...and it can be built and easily knocked down
- a Roddy bouncing pony.... sit on it, bounce it and use up your energy
- a bowling set for toddlers
- and we actually carry a punch bag set from Schylling
- a train whistle would be a good add-on to any gift

Which Turtle Pond store are you closest to?
We'll try to work on some more ideas in the morning!

I've polled our staff and here are some more ideas:
- Melissa & Doug Deluxe Jumbo Cardboard Blocks, Alex Match and Stack Tower Block
- Active Toys: Alex Bean Bag Toss & Tote, Alex Monster Toss, large O-Ball, Hop 45(another bouncing toy), iPlay Egg and Spoon Race, Alex Whacky Bowling Set
- Music: Plan Toy Solid Drum (we sell a lot of those!), Plan Toy Concertina, Saxoflute
- Bathtime: Alex Rub a Dub Dunk & Score, Alex Rub a Dub Fishing in the Tub
- Other ideas: Wow Mix 'n Fix Mike, John Deere Tune Up Workshop, Tomy Puzzle Up Vehicles, Lego Duplo, Zig Zag Zoom Mazes

If you're wondering what some of these are, give the Dundas store a call at 905-627-8909 and they can give you a better description. The Alex products are all visually wow and they have lots geared to that age. If you want a larger item, the Alex Bean Bag Toss or Hop 45 are probably the most substantial of these suggestions.

The Waterloo store added a few more suggestions:
- Alex Monster Mitts, Wee Remote Control Car, iPlay Fun Tractor, Plasma Car
You can reach the Waterloo staff at 519-883-1750.

You guys are amazing! Thank you so much! I am closest to the Dundas store, and will hit it up sometime this week or next weekend to spend m bucks.

A bowling set--brilliant.And good call on the train whistle, although my sister might kill me *wink* I've been looking at the Alex stuff online and appreciate all the awards they've won. Wow.

I'm really grateful for all your suggestions and will see you soon! Thanks again--once again, you've proved how invaluable your store is compared to the Toys R' Us of the world.
