Lately I've been telling my son exciting tales about his plush pals--in particular his favorite stuffy Foxy, at night before he goes to sleep. Foxy has combed lush forests looking for the best trees to climb, gotten stuck and needed the help of a friend (any other stuffy) and had plenty of other adventures around the world--pretty much anything I can think of!

Well, this has gone over really well! Plenty of books and articles suggest this is a great way to bond with your child, expand the creative mind, and just have fun. It's true! If there's something in particular your child likes, you could pick up some inexpensive props and go all-out telling tall (but fun) tales your child or children will love. I'm sure children of many ages love these kinds of stories, and it's fun for parents too. You don't have to be a great story-teller either. Just think up a simple tale and add a little something new each time. You'll be more of a hit than you already are!
